In a couple of months we are launching a new collaboration in support of Garden to Table, a trust which is working with schools across New Zealand to establish vegetable gardens, and integrate the cultivation, cooking and eating of fresh veges into the curriculum.
We are also looking forward to starting a regular volunteer program ourselves, with a Garden to Table school close to our head office.
Last week we popped out to Flat Bush School in Otara, to learn more about what the kids are doing in the garden and the kitchen. We had a lot of fun identifying all sorts of veges in the garden, cleaning up the worm farm and loved seeing all the kids with aprons on, cutting, mixing and cooking lunch for their whole class.
