{ Inspired By }
There is some pretty cool street art around Auckland – some of it tucked away in some quite hidden spots you only see from, for example, the train.
One of my faves is in Grey Lynn, on the corner of Williamson Ave and Great North Rd. It's a graphically striking mural, painted in black and white with details in red, and stretches around the corner of a building. Details like birds, fish and weaving patterns tell stories of Polynesian culture and Pacific migration.
The work was designed by Niuean artist John Pule and painted by students from Manukau Institute of Technology. It feels like it's been there forever, and never fails to inspire me whenever I drive by.
