{ For the Love of It }

Last Friday night I was fortunate enough to be awarded a bronze for my ‘Shadow Mirror’ design at the Best Awards. The Best Awards is an initiative of the Designers Institute of New Zealand and is the annual showcase of excellence in graphic, spatial, product and interactive design.

Matt Holmes, creative director of innovation at Nike HQ took away the coveted John Britten Black Pin. This celebrated his significant success in the field of design both nationally and internationally.

It was a great event to be part of – the Viaduct Events Centre was awash with over 1300 designers having a good old-fashioned knees up, and I highly recommend heading along to one if you get the chance.

It feels great to be a part of the flourishing design community in New Zealand, and to get a pat on the back on the awards night was very humbling.
