{ CONTEMPORARY ART }

One of my favourite New Zealand photographers is Yvonne Todd. I always seem to stop and stare at her works, taken by their story. Initially they make me laugh – however I see the darker content. The appeal for me lies in their faded glamour. Sixties stars trapped in a hay-day and persona that is all they know, avoiding a truth for fear of potential misery, like a Telenovella soap-opera living in the 'burbs.
