EXTRA-CURRICULAR DESIGN ACTIVITIES...

Citta Design has recently been involved in a super exciting design project. Last year the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra enlisted our design services to develop a small exclusive product range for their exhibition gift shop, to go with their current exhibition of Parisian artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

We had loads of fun (and felt extremely privileged!) exploring ways to translate his distinctive art onto products such as umbrellas, tea towels and coffee cups. In the end we came up with a bold, graphic take where we honed in on details we liked in his lithographic prints, like the sexy black stockinged legs and frothy dancing skirts of the cancan dancers and the silhouetted figures of the spectators.

Last weekend Carina and Amy were lucky to be able to visit the gallery and actually see the products in the shop, and view the exhibition as well. We were so happy with how everything looked in the shop, and the exhibition was so inspiring and exciting; we came away with loads of ideas. Here are a few pics of us checking out our products in the shop!
