The Luxe Manor

We stayed in this amazing boutique hotel in Hong Kong on the way back from London recently.
Walking into The Luxe Manor in is like stepping into the inside of Salvador Dali's mind, and is welcome respite from the chaos of Kowloon just outside!

Even if you can't afford one of their 6 themed suites, the 'normal' rooms are still beautiful and hardly normal by anyone else's standards. Highlights include the dramatic lobby, cabaret style Dada lounge bar and the chic main dining room with it's Missoni chairs and undulating wooden roof.

Try and get a sneak peek of their astonishing meeting rooms too!

Make your own sunshiny day!

When its cold outside I feel myself being more and more drawn towards bright sunny colours, especially after the morning I spent at the printers (see post below).
Our Taxi Cab Yellow Velvet Cushion might be the perfect antidote to the winter blues. What colours are you feeling inspired by during these cold wet days?

Chalk it up!

The other day I came across the website of Dana Tanamachi, an incredibly talented graphic designer and chalk letterer. She resides in Brooklyn and her custom chalk creations adorn everything from walls to wine bottles. Click here to watch her create a design for the ACE hotel in New York City. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Bill Cunningham New York

If you are interested in fashion, photography or just love a good documentary then this movie is a must see. Bill Cunningham is a true inspiration - a unique character obsessed with capturing the energy and diversity of people walking NY streets and international catwalks. He is adored by many around the world, and after watching this film you can see why. I am adding this to my 'most favourite movies of all time' list.

'Documentaries about the world of fashion have almost become a mini-genre. The September Issue, Valentino and Vidal Sassoon have surfaced recently, and Bill Cunningham New York now joins the club. But this engaging movie is a little bit different, because while Bill Cunningham has photographed celebrities of couture and high culture for the last 50 years, he remains defiantly outside that chic universe. That's the contradiction explored by director Richard Press in his brisk, 84-minute film that is a love letter to Manhattan as well as to the eccentric shutterbug at the center of the action. Notables like Vogue editor Anna Wintour, author Tom Wolfe and New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. share their impressions of Cunningham without quite catching his original, elfin spirit...

This film is a touching tribute to a man whose enduring love affair has been with his work and with all the strangers who continue to pique his curiosity.'
- The Hollywood Reporter.

Behind The Scenes / Part 2

Part 2 of the Viva Cuba shoot took place in a beautiful old colonial mansion, amidst rustic treasures and fascinating antiques, wizened old trees and luscious palms. Here are a few sneak peeks of the charming setting; amazingly we had two full days of sun to capture our tropical flavoured collection.

Bring on summer!
